[ARCHIVED] Aggravated Battery

(PEORIA, IL) On Saturday, June 21, 2025, at approximately 2:01 p.m., Peoria Police were dispatched to the 600 block of W. Main Street on a report of a person shot.
Upon arrival, officers were unable to locate either the victim or the suspect. However, officers did locate a crime scene.
While officers were still on scene, they learned that the victim, described as a 44-year-old male, drove himself to a local hospital. The victim was not shot but had sustained a head injury after being struck with a handgun during an altercation at the above location. The victim’s injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
During the course of this investigation, police learned that the suspect discharged two rounds during the struggle before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
Currently, there is no suspect information. This incident is under investigation.
