PEORIA, IL (July 7, 2025) The city of Peoria invites all residents to celebrate the 10th annual Great Neighbor Appreciation Week, running from Saturday, July 12th through Friday, July 18th.
Hosted by the Community Development Department, this special week is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the people, businesses, and organizations that make Peoria a strong and vibrant place to live. Whether you’re lending a hand during a cleanup or stopping by for a cookout, there’s something for everyone.
Saturday, July 12: City-Wide Cleanup | 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Join your neighbors, local organizations, and businesses at a city-wide clean up at one of these locations:
- Southside: Martin Luther King Jr. Park: 825 W McBean, Peoria, IL 61605
- North Valley: Morton Square Park, 901 NE Monroe Street, Peoria, IL 61603
- East Bluff: East Bluff Community Center, 512 E Kansas Street, Peoria, IL 61603
- Center Bluff: McClure Library, 315 W McClure Avenue, Peoria, IL 61604
- West Bluff: West Main Street, City parking lot, 714 W Main Street, Peoria, IL 61606
Monday, July 14: Nonprofit Appreciation Day
Community Development staff will visit nonprofits to thank them for all the work they do.
Tuesday, July 15: Code Encouragement Day
Staff will hand out Good Job Door Hangers to neighbors who go above and beyond to maintain their yards and their properties.
Wednesday, July 16: Local Business Appreciation Day
Community Development staff will visit small and locally-owned businesses to thank them for helping Peoria grow.
Thursday, July 17: Great Neighbor Appreciation Cookout | 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM | Next to City Hall, 419 Fulton Street, Peoria, IL 61602
Everyone is welcome! Stop by for free food, yard games, face painting, ballon art, a bounce house, and fun for the whole family.
Friday, July 18: #GreatNeighborShoutout Day
