[ARCHIVED] Yard waste collection resumes Monday, March 13

City Peoria Logo

Start planning those yard clean-up projects now as city-wide yard waste collection will begin again on Monday, March 13.

Yard waste materials include grass clippings, leaves, tree limbs, and brush. Limbs and sticks can be bundled with nonmetallic cord, such as twine, but must be less than five feet in length and weigh less than 50 pounds.

For unbundled materials, residents are encouraged to use their own containers. Yard waste is hard on the carts. Only using the City of Peoria’s carts for recycling and garbage and a separate container for yard waste helps to prolong the life of the City’s carts.

Use plastic or metal garbage cans between 40 and 45 gallons in size, with two handles, and a tight-fitting lid. Wheeled carts that are either 65 or 95 gallons in size are also acceptable. Please be sure to label cans or carts with “Yard Waste Only” stickers available at City Hall, Public Works, or any GFL location.

Yard waste collection runs through December 8. More information on yard waste collection can be found here.
