(PEORIA, IL) On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at approximately 8:09 p.m., Peoria Police officers responded to the 2300 block of N. Knoxville Avenue following a report of an armed robbery.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who reported that an unknown male suspect entered the business (Knoxville Food Mart) armed with a long rifle. The suspect stole items from the store before fleeing the scene. He was observed entering the passenger side of a vehicle, which then traveled eastbound on Arcadia. No injuries were reported.
At approximately 4:37 p.m., Peoria detectives located the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Ashten Bean, at a residence in the 2100 block of N. Linn Street. Police approached the residence and took Bean into custody without incident.
Bean was transported to the Peoria Police Department for interview purposes and was subsequently arrested for Armed Robbery and an active warrant. He was then transported to the Peoria County Jail.
