(PEORIA, IL) On Saturday, September 13, 2025, at approximately 4:15 p.m., Peoria Police officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Willow Knolls Road on a report of trouble with a male who was possibly armed with a handgun.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, identified as 58-year-old Craig Ledel, lying on the ground outside the building. Ledel appeared to have jumped from a third-story window in an attempt to flee. He was found unresponsive but breathing. Nearby, officers observed a backpack containing illegal drugs near Ledel.
Ledel was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives with the Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (SID) responded to the scene to assist Patrol. A search warrant was executed on the residence at the above location. During the search, investigators recovered illegal drugs, drug equipment, and two firearms.
Ledel was placed under arrest for the following offenses:
• Obstructing Justice
• Armed Violence
• Unlawful Use of a Weapon
• Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon
• Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance
• Possession of a Controlled Substance
• Active Warrants
Due to his injuries, Ledel was admitted to the hospital. He will be transported to the Peoria County Jail upon his medical release.
