Full-Size Truck Detour Route Map
Beginning on Monday, Sept. 22, road closures, parking restrictions, and a detour route will take place around Dozer Park, located at 730 S.W. Adams Street. The restrictions, which are expected to last six days, are necessary for field renovations at Dozer Park by the Peoria Chiefs. Additional work will be done on the field later in October.
Drivers and pedestrians should be mindful of an increased number of semis in the area. Drivers should also exercise an overabundance of caution in the area and be mindful of the closures.
Parking Restrictions – Beginning Monday, Sept. 22
The following parking restrictions will be in effect throughout the duration of the project.
- Parking will not be allowed along the northbound lane in the 600-700 blocks of S.W. Jefferson Avenue between Oak Street and Walnut Street.
- Parking will not be allowed along the northbound lane in the 600 block of S.W. Adams Street between State Street and Walnut Street.
To access the Peoria Police Department, located at 600 S.W. Adams Street, drivers should use Walnut Street.
On-street parking restrictions will be marked. Non-restricted, on-street parking will be available in the 800-900 blocks of S.W. Adams Street and the 200-300 blocks of Oak Street.
Adams Street and State Street Closures – Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 23
In addition to the parking restrictions above, the following road and lane closures will be in effect during the project. The closures will be daytime only, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will last six days, weather permitting.
- S.W. Adams Street will be closed to both northbound and southbound traffic between State Street and Walnut Street. Northbound S.W. Adams Street traffic must turn right onto eastbound State Street.
- The southbound lane of S.W. Adams Street between Walnut Street and Oak Street will be closed.
- The westbound lane of State Street will be closed midblock, past the alley. Westbound State Street traffic will be for business and residential access only.
Truck Detour Route
Northbound S.W. Adams Street truck/semi traffic should utilize S. MacArthur Highway as the detour route.
- Northbound S.W. Adams Street truck/semi traffic should travel east on S. MacArthur Highway, north on S.W. Washington Street, through the roundabout and west on Harrison Street, and north on S.W. Adams Street.
