Beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 6, lane and parking restrictions will go into effect on Adams Street from N. William Kumpf Boulevard to the Interstate 74 overpass. The work will last through Friday, Oct. 17.

These lane and parking restrictions are necessary for resurfacing work as part of the Adams Street and Jefferson Avenue One-Way to Two-Way Conversion Project.

While this work occurs, drivers can EXPECT LONG DELAYS. The use of ALTERNATIVE ROUTES IS STRONGLY ADVISED.

Lane Restrictions – Monday, Oct. 6

  • The far left two lanes of Adams Street will be closed to ALL TRAFFIC. This closure will extend from N. William Kumpf Boulevard to the Interstate 74 overpass.

Parking Restrictions – Monday, Oct. 6

  • The northside parking lane on Adams Street from N. William Kumpf Boulevard to the Interstate 74 overpass will be closed.

  • NO ON-STREET PARKING WILL BE ALLOWED ALONG THIS STRETCH OF ADAMS STREET.

  • VEHICLES PARKED IN A RESTRICTED AREA WILL BE SUBJECT TO TOWING.

Off-street parking will remain available at the Jefferson, Niagara, and Twin Towers parking decks.

Lane closures and parking restrictions WILL CHANGE DAILY. Temporary delays of up to 30 minutes can be expected while entering and exiting parking decks and businesses in the areas where milling and paving work is occurring.

Traffic patterns will return to their current patterns once the resurfacing work has been completed. One-way traffic on Adams Street will remain in place until next year.

Daily progress updates will be sent out starting on Monday, Oct. 6, and will last through Friday, Oct. 17. The updates will also address where milling and paving work will occur next.

Drivers should be mindful of workers in the area. Flaggers will be present at times to help guide traffic. An extreme amount of caution should be used in the area.
