(PEORIA, IL) On Sunday, October 12, 2025, at approximately 1:24 p.m., Peoria Police responded to the 2300 block of W. Antoinette Street following a ShotSpotter alert indicating that approximately 15 rounds had been fired.
While en route, officers were advised that an adult male had been shot while riding a bicycle in the same area. Upon arrival, officers located a 22-year-old male lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Officers immediately rendered life-saving measures on scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Special Investigations Division (SID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), SWAT Team, and Patrol Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
During the course of the investigation, officers learned that several juveniles were observed running into a residence in the 2300 block of W. Antoinette. A search warrant was subsequently executed at that residence.
During the search, officers located multiple firearms inside, one of which was reported stolen. Three juvenile males—two 16-year-olds and one 17-year-old—were taken into custody and transported to the Peoria Police Department for interview purposes.
Following interviews, all three juveniles were arrested for Possession of a Weapon Under 21, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. The juveniles were transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
