(PEORIA, IL) On Saturday, October 4, 2025, at approximately 6:41 p.m., Peoria Police received a call regarding unauthorized video recording at a residence in the 1100 block of NE Glen Oak Avenue.
When officers arrived, they recovered evidence from the above location.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified 41-year-old Isreal Ruiz as the suspect in this case. Ruiz was also wanted for a Violation of an Order of Protection related to a previous incident (case #25-19665).
On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, detectives observed Ruiz leaving a residence in the 2200 block of W. Howett Avenue. After he entered a vehicle and drove away, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 2300 block of W. Lincoln Avenue. Ruiz was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Peoria Police Department for questioning.
Following his arrest, detectives executed a search warrant at the residence in the 2200 block of W. Howett Avenue. During the search, officers located additional surveillance cameras, multiple cellular devices, and illegal narcotics.
As a result, Isreal Ruiz was arrested for the following offenses:
• Aggravated Stalking
• Violation of an Order of Protection (3 counts)
• Residential Burglary (2 counts)
• Unauthorized Videotaping (3 counts)
• Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance
• Harassment Through Telecommunication
• Theft (case #25-15955)
Ruiz was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
