[ARCHIVED] Homicide (UPDATE BELOW)

(PEORIA, IL) Saturday, November 22, 2025, at approximately 11:25 pm, officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of West Oakcrest Drive (Lexington Hills Apartments) regarding reports of shots fired. While en-route, dispatch advised responding officers there were possibly two victims.

Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive 17-year-old male inside of an apartment. First responders-initiated emergency life saving measures as the victim was found to have suffered gunshot wounds to the torso. The 17-year-old was transported to a local hospital via ambulance where he was later pronounced deceased.

A second victim, a 21-year-old male, was located inside of a nearby apartment. The male suffered gunshot wounds to his legs and was transported to a local hospital where his condition is considered stable.

Patrol officers as well as a contingent of off-duty officers (including detectives, crime scene, the activation of SWAT, and command) responded to the scene. Two court authorized search warrants were executed and evidence from the shooting was recovered.

Officers canvassed the area of Lexington Hills seeking anyone with information or additional camera coverage pertinent to this investigation.

This investigation remains on-going.

UPDATE 11/25/25

On Monday, November 24, 2025, Peoria Police Detectives conducted an interview at the Peoria Police Department with a 17-year-old male identified as a suspect in this investigation.

Following the interview, the juvenile was taken into custody and arrested for Aggravated Battery, Home Invasion, and Armed Robbery.

This investigation remains active and ongoing.
