[ARCHIVED] Single Vehicle Accident/Drugs/Weapons

(PEORIA, IL) On Saturday, December 27, 2025, at approximately 12:27 a.m., Peoria Police officers were dispatched to SW Jefferson Avenue and Fulton Street in reference to a single-vehicle crash involving a vehicle that had struck a gate.

Upon arrival, officers learned that two male subjects fled from the vehicle following the crash. During the course of the investigation, officers located one of the fleeing subjects, identified as 18-year-old Connor A. Maquet, in the area and took him into custody after a brief foot pursuit.

A search of the vehicle involved resulted in the discovery of illegal narcotics. Officers also recovered a discarded handgun along the initial flight path of the suspects. A second handgun was later located along Maquet’s flight path.

Maquet was transported to the Peoria Police Department for an interview and subsequently arrested on the following charges: Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, Unlawful Possession of a Handgun with Defaced Identification, Possession of a Firearm without a Valid FOID Card, and Unlawful Possession of Firearm Ammunition without a FOID Card.

On Monday, December 29, 2025, Peoria Police located and arrested the second suspect involved in the incident, identified as 18-year-old Shane M. Fisher Jr. Fisher was arrested on the following charges: Armed Violence, Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon Under 21, Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Damage to Property, Resisting Police, and Obstructing a Peace Officer.

Both individuals were transported to the Peoria County Jail.
