(PEORIA, IL) On Saturday, January 3, 2026, at approximately 3:35 p.m., Peoria Police officers were dispatched to the 100 block of E. Corrington in response to a report of juveniles checking vehicle doors.
Upon arrival, officers observed a group of males matching the description of the suspects. As officers approached the group, some of the suspects fled the area on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, officers apprehended six juveniles without incident.
Two juveniles were released without charges at the scene. A 17-year-old male was also arrested for Resisting/Obstructing Police and released to a parent. The remaining three juveniles that were taken into custody were transported to the Peoria Police Department for interview.
A 15-year-old male was arrested for Resisting/Obstructing Police, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon No FOID, and Unlawful Possession of Firearm Ammunition for a handgun that was located along his flight path while fleeing.
A second 15-year-old male was arrested for Armed Robbery and Aggravated Battery (#25-23106), Resisting Arrest/Obstructing Police (#26-187), and on an active warrant for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle (#25-20978).
A 17-year-old male was arrested for Armed Robbery (#25-23106) and Resisting Arrest/Obstructing Police (#26-187).
These three juveniles were transported to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
This incident remains under investigation.
