(PEORIA, IL) On Friday, January 16, 2026, at approximately 9:10 p.m., Peoria Police officers were dispatched to the 6300 block of North University Street (Richwoods High School), in reference to a report of a large disturbance outside the gymnasium.
Upon arrival, officers observed multiple physical altercations involving a group of female juveniles. With the assistance of School Resource Officers (SROs), officers intervened, separated the involved individuals, and detained those actively engaged in the fights.
Two juveniles sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.
As a result of the investigation, five female juveniles were arrested for Battery and Mob Action. Those arrested included two 15-year-olds, two 16-year-olds, and one 17-year-old.
All of the juveniles were released into the custody of their parents and legal guardians.
