City Accepting Applications for 2023 Violence Prevention Funding

The City will be accepting applications for 2023 Violence Prevention funding beginning Monday, April 10th at 8:00 AM through May 12th at 2:00 PM. This grant provides funding to non-profits, 501(c)3 organizations, and government agencies to offer violence prevention programs for city of Peoria residents. All programs must be evidence-based and have measurable results.

Programs must fall under one of six priority areas: 

  • Thriving Neighborhoods
  • Empowered Youth &Young Adult
  • Restorative & Resilience
  • Intervention
  • Violence Reduction
  • Workforce Training

Workforce Training programs must measure the number of people served and how many clients are connected to permanent employment. 

The minimum funding request for Workforce Training is $150,000 and the maximum funding request is $300,000. For all other priority areas, funding requests must be between $50,000 and $400,000. 

How to Apply

Local agencies can apply online and find more information, including program guidelines and a recorded application training session, at the Violence Prevention Funding Application page.   

Eligible applications will be reviewed by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Public Services Advisory Commission. Agencies will be notified of funding decisions following City Council approval.
