(PEORIA, IL) Friday, April 28, 2023, at approximately 6:16 p.m. Peoria Police were dispatched to the 900 block of W. McBean regarding a large group of juveniles fighting.
When officers arrived, they located a group of juveniles standing outside. A 14-year-old male immediately fled the scene on foot.
During a brief chase officers observed the juvenile discard a fanny pack while running. The 14-year-old male was apprehended while trying to jump a fence.
Officers located a loaded firearm inside the discarded fanny pack.
The juvenile was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Use of a Weapon Under 21 and Resisting Arrest.
He was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
