LEGAL NOTICE

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals will be received at the Office of the City Engineer, Public Works Facility, 3505 N. Dries Lane, Peoria, Illinois, until 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 1, 2023, for the proposed project officially known as Old Big Hollow Bridge Rehabilitation, SN 072-6007 and at which time said proposals will be publicly opened and read.

The proposed improvement consists of the rehabilitation of Old Big Hollow Bridge over Big Hollow Creek. This will include approach slab repair, reconstruction of expansion joints, structural concrete repair, bridge painting, and all necessary adjustments, incidentals and appurtenances at locations shown in the plans. 

All provisions regarding EEO, prevailing wage, certified payroll, and DBE and WBE requirements shall be strictly enforced. All work shall be in compliance with specifications and all state and federal laws and regulations.

Specifications and proposal forms are issued through the Offices of the City Engineer, Public Works Facility, 3505 North Dries Lane, Peoria, IL, Phone number 309-494-8800. Before plans and specifications may be obtained, contractors must be pre-qualified. Electronic documents are available by providing contact information (company name, contact name, phone number, fax number and email address) in an email request to pwdropbox@peoriagov.org.  Please be specific as to which Project’s plans and specs are being requested.  All proposals must be accompanied by cash, certified check, cashier’s check, or a bid bond for not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid.

The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond for the full amount of the contract, with sureties, to be approved by the City Engineer. Compliance with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act is required under this contract.

The City of Peoria reserves the right to waive technicalities and to reject any or all proposals.
