(PEORIA, IL) Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at approximately 6:45 p.m. Peoria Police responded to Garden and Ligonier where an adult male had been struck in the head with a brick and was unconscious.
When officers arrived on scene, they located the victim who had severe injuries. The victim was then transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.
During the course of the investigation officers learned that the victim got into a verbal argument with a 14-year-old male who threw a brick at the victim striking him in the head. The juvenile then fled the scene on foot.
A short time later, police located the juvenile at a residence in the 2500 block of Malone. The 14-year-old was detained and transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes and subsequently arrested for Aggravated Battery.
He was transported to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
