(PEORIA, IL) Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at approximately 5:55 p.m. members of the Peoria Police Departments Special Investigations Division (SID) located a wanted subject in the 700 block of N. Hightower.
When officers approached the wanted subject, identified as 40-year-old Laharold D. Washington, he fled on foot. After a brief foot chase Washington was apprehended. A loaded handgun was recovered in the area where
Washington was taken into custody.
Washington was transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes and was subsequently arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Phone Harassment, Possession of a Firearm without a Valid FOID Card, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.
