W Glen Avenue between N Sheridan Road and Knoxville Avenue will reopen to through traffic by the end of the day on Friday, June 16.
The Glen Avenue Reconstruction Project between N Sheridan Road and Knoxville Avenue began in the summer of 2022. Along with the complete reconstruction of the road, sidewalks, new storm sewers, and new curb and gutter were added to the roadway.
Along with the reconstruction, the project also included the jurisdictional transfer of the roadway from Peoria County to the City of Peoria. The Glen Avenue Reconstruction Project was another vital improvement to Peoria’s infrastructure. The public’s patience while this project was completed was appreciated.
