(PEORIA, IL) Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at approximately 11:29 a.m. Peoria Police responded to the 4700 block of N. Knoxville on a report of trouble with a male.
When officers arrived, they observed an adult male get into a vehicle and drive away at a high rate of speed, striking several parked vehicles and a Peoria Police squad car.
The
vehicle fled southbound on Knoxville, turning onto FRYE where it collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Frye and Peoria. The driver of the vehicle that was struck suffered minor injuries.
The suspect identified as 20-year-old Braylan M. Walls exited the vehicle and fled on foot. After a brief chase Walls was apprehended in the 300 block of Nebraska and taken into custody.
During a search of the suspect’s vehicle officers located a handgun inside.
Walls was subsequently arrested for Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Reckless Driving, Leaving the scene of multiple accidents, Operating an Uninsured Vehicle, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and multiple citations for Moving Violations.
Walls was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
