(PEORIA, IL) Thursday, July 27, 2023, at approximately 12:22 a.m. while on patrol, officers observed a stolen vehicle in the area of Thrush and Peoria.
The vehicle was traveling at a slow speed due to the vehicle’s tires being damaged.
Officers followed the vehicle and observed three male occupants exit the vehicle in the 2200 block of N. Delaware and flee on foot.
Officers we able to apprehend all three suspects who were juveniles.
A fourth person in the car drove away from the scene in the stolen vehicle. Officers later found the vehicle unoccupied in the 1300 block of Hillcrest. Police and a K-9 conducted a search of the area for the suspect with negative results.
While searching the stolen vehicle officers located a ghost gun with an automatic switch.
The juveniles were transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes and subsequently arrested.
The 14-year-old was arrested for Criminal Trespass to a Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID, Possession of a Handgun Under 21, and Possession of a Machine Gun. He was transported to JDC.
The 15-year-old was arrested for Resisting Arrest and Criminal Trespass to a Motor Vehicle. He was later released into the custody of his mother.
The 17-year-old was arrested for Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, and numerous Traffic Violations. He was transported to JDC.
