Public Works Logo

Beginning at 6 pm on Thursday, August 10, Fulton Street from SW Jefferson Street to SW Monroe Street, and SW Madison Avenue from Fulton Street to Main Street will be closed for slurry seal road improvements.

Also, during this timeframe, SW Monroe Street from Fulton to Main Street will be reduced to one lane for slurry seal work. Flaggers will be directing traffic on SW Monroe Street.

These closures will last approximately three to four hours, depending on the weather. At the latest, Fulton Street, SW Madison Avenue, and SW Monroe Street will be completely reopened by 6 am on Friday, August 11.

The parking lot at City Hall will be closed at 6 pm. Access to the Twin Towers parking deck will be from SW Jefferson Street only. Access to the Marriott hotels' parking decks will be from SW Monroe Street only. Please watch for flaggers in the area.

The work will be performed on both sides of Fulton Street, SW Madison Avenue, and SW Monroe Street. No parking and road closed signs will be in place. Main Street should be used for on-street parking. Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.

This work is part of the department’s annual pavement preservation program. The City appreciates the public’s patience while these roadway treatments are applied to extend the life of the pavement.
