Previously Reported:
(Peoria, IL) – Saturday, July 15, 2023, at approximately 5:57 pm, Peoria Police responded to the 2400 blk of N Gale regarding a report of shots fired. A caller further advised a victim was being transported to a local hospital via private vehicle.
Officers located items of evidentiary value in the parking lot of Parkview Estates, 2401 N Gale.
The victim, a 26-year-old male, sustained life-threatening injuries and is in critical condition.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division and officers with the Crime Scene Unit were on scene.
The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE: 8/17/23
During the course of the investigation, Peoria Police Detectives were able to identify a 16-year-old male as one of the persons on scene shooting a firearm.
On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, the juvenile turned himself in at the PPD lobby.
The 16-year-old male was subsequently arrested for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Possession of a Firearm Under 21.
The juvenile was later transported to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.

UPDATE 8/18/23
During the course of the investigation, Peoria Police Detectives identified 20-year-old Jimmy E. Williams Jr. as the person who shot the victim in this incident.
On Thursday, August 17, 2023, members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and Special Investigations Division (SID), located and arrested Williams in the 4800 block of N. University.
Williams was transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes. Williams was arrested for Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm. Williams was also arrested for Armed Robbery as a result of an unrelated incident (23-15436).
Williams was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
This incident remains under investigation.
