(PEORIA, IL) Friday, August 25, 2023, at approximately 12:54 a.m. Peoria Police were dispatched to the 600 block of W. Main on a call of a person stabbed.
When officers arrived, they located an adult male with an apparent stab wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A
short time later, the suspect identified as 31-year-old Gene A. Thompson Jr. returned to the location of the stabbing and was placed into custody without incident.
Thompson Jr. was arrested for Aggravated Battery.
He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
