(PEORIA, IL) Friday, September 1, 2023, at approximately 4:52 p.m. Peoria Police observed a vehicle that fled the scene of a previous incident traveling on Jefferson Street.
During the course of the investigation, ISP Air Operations continued to track the vehicle until it came to a brief stop in the 100 block of Merriman Court.
As
officers approached the vehicle, the driver identified as 35-year-old Landis D. West fled WB onto Hurlburt. Officers followed the vehicle as it drove through the south end and then onto Interstate 74.
ISP observed the vehicle strike a parked vehicle in the 3000 block of W. Scenic where West was taken into custody.
West was arrested for Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Reckless Driving, an active warrant, and numerous traffic offenses.
He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
