October 13, 2023 (PEORIA, IL) Ahead of this year’s budget deliberations, the city of Peoria released the digital budget book. This online resource will allow users to see financial information on the City’s operating budget, personnel expenses, department spending, capital improvement projects and timelines, and more. Visitors will also have access to funding sources and fund summaries.
The budget dashboard was announced by Finance Director Kyle Cratty at the October 10 City Council meeting. Director Cratty noted, “This is the first year we are using an online budget transparency tool. This is a live, interactive tool on our website so the Council and the community can have access to the same information in what I hope is a more accessible transparent format.”
Information pertaining to the budget can also be found on the city of Peoria website. This page will include presentations made at City Council meetings and report-backs to the City Council. The initial review of the biennial budget is scheduled for Tuesday, October 17 at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. The City Council will meet every Tuesday until the passage of the biennial budget. The budget must be passed and filed with the County Clerk by the last Tuesday in December.
