(PEORIA, IL) Thursday, December 28, 2023, at approximately 12:30 p.m. members of the Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (SID) observed a wanted suspect enter a vehicle in the 2700 block of Victoria.
Officers followed the vehicle and observed it come to a stop at a business at University and McClure.
Detectives immediately approached the vehicle and placed the driver, identified as 31-year-old Kelvin Dumas into custody without incident.
Dumas was transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes and subsequently arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Obstructing Justice (2-counts), and 2 Active
Warrants.
Dumas was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
