Racial Justice and Equity Forum To Be Held February 6
The public is invited to attend a Community Engagement Forum at East Bluff Community Center.
Peoria, IL – The Peoria City/County Joint Commission on Racial Justice and Equity (RJE) will host a Community Forum on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the East Bluff Community Center, 512 E. Kansas St., in Peoria. All residents of Peoria County — including individuals, families and representatives of neighborhood associations, places of worship and other community organizations — are invited to participate.
The second Community Engagement Forum will provide another opportunity for the public to share stories and relay concerns regarding racial justice and equity within the RJE Commission’s eight areas of focus: Child & Youth Development, Economic Development & Jobs, Environment & Climate, Health & Human Services, Quality Housing, Information Technology, Justice, and Transportation & Mobility. It follows the Commission’s first Community Engagement Forum, held last November at Neighborhood House.
RJE Commission members and partners will be on hand to listen and gather feedback to inform strategic plans and partnerships that advance racial justice and equity — and seek to make Peoria a more livable and equitable community for all its residents.
