(PEORIA, IL) Thursday, February 1, 2024, at approximately 2:15 p.m. members of the Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (SID) and Patrol Unit observed a wanted male in the 2700 block of W. Trewyn.
When officers attempted to make contact with the subject, identified as 30-year-old Tywan D. Wade, he fled on foot.
During the chase, officers observed Wade discard a firearm while running.
Wade was apprehended a short time later in the 2700 block of W. Montana. The firearm was recovered by police.
Wade was transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes and subsequently arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, No FOID Card and an Active Warrant.
He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
