[ARCHIVED] 2/9/24 Homicide Investigation (UPDATE)

On Thursday, January 04, 2024, at approximately 2:14 p.m., Peoria Police Officers responded to the 200 block of East Thrush Street on a report of a male shot.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found an adult male victim down in front of the residence with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased. The identity 
of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Peoria County Coroner.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Special Investigations Division (SID), Neighborhood Services Unit (NSU), and Crime Scene Unit (CSU) responded to the scene and initiated the investigation.
Through the course of this investigation, detectives were able to identify a suspect and a suspect vehicle. SID officers located the suspect vehicle in the 2200 block of West Howett. The suspect, later identified as 39-year-old David H. Stone, was observed leaving the residence on Howett. Stone was taken into custody without incident. Stone was then transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes. A search warrant was then conducted at the residence in the 2200 block of Howett with the assistance of Peoria Police SWAT.
Stone was later arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Violation of Sex Offender Registry, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.
On Friday, January 5th, 2024, Stone was charged by the Peoria County State’s Attorney with 1st Degree Murder.
This incident remains under investigation.
UPDATE 2/9/24.
During the course of this investigation, detectives identified a second suspect as 25-year-old Mickael D. Williams. On January 30th the Peoria County State’s Attorney secured an arrest warrant for Williams for the charge of 1st-degree murder. Detectives believed Williams fled the Peoria area after this incident. The 
Peoria Police Department Special Investigations Division and the United States Marshals Service (USMS) Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force then conducted an investigation into the whereabouts of Williams.
The USMS task force developed information that Williams was possibly in the Dallas Texas metro area. The USMS North Texas Fugitive Task Force was then contacted. On Wednesday, February 7th, Task Force officers located and arrested Williams in the Dallas area. Williams was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm when he was taken into custody. Williams was transported to the local Dallas County Jail pending extradition.
