(PEORIA, IL) On Thursday, February 22, 2024, at approximately 6:41 p.m. Peoria Police responded to the 1200 block of N. Ellis on a report of a male with a gun. It was reported the male fired the gun toward a residence. No one was injured.
When officers arrived, they located a male matching the description of the suspect walking in the area.
When
officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, identified as 41-year-old Terone Chalmers he fled on foot.
After a brief foot chase, Chalmers was apprehended and taken into custody.
Officers also located a handgun along the flight path of Chalmers and a magazine was located on his person.
Chalmers was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, No FOID, Resisting Police, Criminal Damage to Property, and two Active Warrants.
He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
