[ARCHIVED] 4/23/24 Stolen Vehicles

(PEORIA, IL) Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at approximately 4:34 a.m. Peoria Police observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed traveling SB on Western. Officers 
also observed a second vehicle following with a missing rear passenger window.
Police followed both vehicles and observed one vehicle stop in the 1900 block of W. Proctor while the second vehicle continued SB on Western. Both vehicles were reported stolen.
As officers approached the stopped vehicle they observed three juvenile males inside.
The juveniles, all 15 years old were immediately detained and transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes and charged with the following offenses.
Juvenile #1 was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Possession of Cannabis, and No Driver’s License.
Juvenile #2 was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, and Possession of Cannabis.
Juvenile #3 was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, and Possession of Cannabis.
All three juveniles were transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
During this investigation, officers who followed the second stolen vehicle observed it attempting to make a left turn onto a wrong-way street (SW Jefferson). When the driver also identified as a 15-year-old male saw police he immediately exited the 
vehicle and fled on foot.
After a brief foot chase, the juvenile was apprehended. 
During that chase, the juvenile injured his ankle and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Once the juvenile is medically cleared, he will be arrested and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Fleeing and Eluding, Reckless Driving, Obstructing Police, and Possession of Burglary Tools.
