The City is accepting applications for the Down Payment Assistance Program and the Housing Rehabilitation Program. Staff will accept applications until all funding has been distributed. Applicants to both programs must qualify under specific criteria.
Down Payment Assistance Program
The Down Payment Assistance Program provides help to prospective homeowners to purchase a home in a Qualified Census Tract (QCT). Approved applicants will receive a maximum of $5,000.
To qualify for the Down Payment Assistance Program, applicants:
- Must have a signed contract for a single-family home with a purchase price at or below $125,000
- Must be approved for a primary mortgage
- Have secured a closing company or attorney with a closing date
- Cannot owe the City any fines, fees, or taxes

Housing Rehabilitation Program
The Housing Rehabilitation Program is a 50/50 match grant that provides homeowners between $3,000 to $15,000 for home improvement projects in Qualified Census Tracts.
To qualify for the Housing Rehabilitation Program, applicants:
- Must have current homeowner’s insurance
- Cannot have any outstanding code violations
- Cannot owe the City any fines, fees, or taxes
