(PEORIA, IL) Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at approximately 7:25 p.m. members of the Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (SID) made contact with a group of male juveniles in the 2200 block of NE Perry.
During the course of this investigation, officers located a loaded handgun with an extended magazine on the person of one of the subjects. (17 years old). The firearm was reported stolen.
A BB
gun was located on the person of a second juvenile (14 years old). He was issued a violation for the BB gun and released from the scene.
The 17-year-old male was transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes and subsequently arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, No FOID, and Possession of a Firearm Under 21.
The male was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
