(PEORIA, IL) Thursday, June 13, 2024, at approximately 12:02 a.m. Peoria Police responded to the 400 block of N. Richard Pryor Place regarding a series of Shot Spotter alerts indicating 26, 16, 7, and another 7 rounds fired respectively in the same location.
While en route officers were notified by dispatch that a person had been struck by gunfire. The victim, a 17-year-old female was located by police in the 800 block of RB Garrett Avenue with a gunshot wound to the leg. The juvenile was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit responded to the location where the shots were fired and initiated an investigation.
There is currently no suspect information. This incident is under investigation.
