(PEORIA, IL) Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at approximately 1:32 a.m. Peoria Police responded to the 1100 block of N. Summit on a report of two males checking car doors.
When officers arrived, the two suspects identified as 18-year-old Matthew A. Chapai and a 14-year-old male fled on foot but were quickly apprehended by police.
During a search of the suspects, police found stolen property on their person.
Officers also identified three vehicles that were broken into.
Both subjects were arrested for Burglary and Obstructing Police.
Chapai was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
The juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
