Occupation: Christopher Render’s role at Peoria Public Schools includes directing the band at Richwoods High School and coordinating the school district’s fine arts program in instrumental music for all students in fifth-to-twelfth grades. He conducts Richwoods’ wind and jazz ensembles, as well as the marching and pep bands.

Career influence and inspiration: Mr. Render’s music professors have been his most influential and supportive mentors, including Fred J. Allen, Kevin Sedatole, Charles Gavin, and Ron Carter, along with is friend and colleague Wally Parks. “These mentors have opened many doors and windows for me to see the beauty in the music arts and how to share it with students. . .I also give thanks to God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for without his relationship, all is worthless.
