Occupation: Kyle Bright, a recruitment strategist for OSF HealthCare, is responsible for developing and implementing plans to find, hire and retain staff for the largest employer in Peoria and the largest healthcare provider in central Illinois. He has a special focus on recruiting and retaining a racially-diverse workforce. Bright began his career recruiting students for Illinois Central College. He is former director of recruitment and admissions at Methodist College.
Community Involvement: Mr. Bright is chairman of Peoria Park District’s River City Soul Fest Committee, a charter member of the Peoria chapter of the National Pan-Hellenic Council and a member of Peoria’s graduate chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. He is also a former board member of Heart of Illinois Big Brothers Big Sisters and a former member of Goodwill Advisory Council.
Education: Bachelor of Arts, communications, Northern Illinois University; master of arts, higher education administration, Indiana Wesleyan University; doctorate of education, Walden University.
Elected Office: He is a former member of the Peoria Park District Board of Trustees
Three things he’s passionate about: Spending time with family, improving the lives of Peoria residents through personalized career coaching and volunteering through community service projects with Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.
Three favorite hobbies: Walking outdoors, attending his children’s extra-curricular activities, and trying new foods, whether cooking at home or dining out.
Career influence or inspiration: His father, the late George R. Bright Jr., his mother, Mollye Bright, and his older brother, George R. Bright III
