TRINA D. BONDS
Chief Deputy City Clerk, City of Peoria
Occupation: The city clerk’s office maintains all official records for the City of Peoria. As chief deputy city clerk, Trina Bonds is assistant to the city clerk. She administers the city’s liquor license program, manages the office budget, performs administrative duties for the Peoria Fire Pension Board and helps supervise deputy clerks. She also performs the city clerk’s duties in the clerk’s absence and serves as deputy town clerk for Peoria Township.
Community Involvement: Ms. Bonds is a member of Public Employees for Community Concerns, Municipal Clerks of Illinois, International Institute of Municipal Clerks, Spring Grove Homeowners’ Association, and Central Illinois Municipal Clerks, where she serves on the auditing and scholarship committees.
Education: Certified municipal clerk (CMC) and registered municipal clerk (RMC), Illinois Municipal Clerk Training Institute (by Dec. 2023); diploma, administrative secretary with shorthand, Robert Morris University

Three favorite hobbies: Being a ‘Mimi’ to her grandchildren, Janee’ and Jaylen, traveling and shopping
Career Influence or Inspiration: Ms. Bonds says her mother, Florida Bonds-Maclin, was a trailblazer for her and others. Her mother was the first African-American female bus driver for Greater Peoria Mass Transit District and she is the first African-American chief deputy clerk.
