NIKKI ROMAIN
Executive Director, ART Inc.
Occupation: Nikki Romain is co-founder and executive director of ART Inc., or Artists ReEnvisioning Tomorrow. She and her husband, Jonathon, founded the arts education nonprofit organization after they bought and restored an old, vacant school building. Ms. Romain manages day-to-day operations of the center, which offers arts, science, technology and math programs for students, along with a variety of community cultural events.
Community Involvement: She is a board member of Heart of Illinois United Way; chairperson of Arts Facet of The Links Inc.; program director of Greater Peoria Ill. chapter of Jack and Jill of America Inc.; a member of the Arts Leadership Council of Arts Alliance Illinois; a member of the Joint Commission on Racial Justice and Equity’s child and youth subcommittee; and a former board member of Big Picture Peoria.
