Chemical Plant Manager
Occupation: Ryan Lowry is manager of Evonik Corp.’s chemical manufacturing plant. An engineer by trade, he leads the day-to-day operations of the international chemical company’s Mapleton derivatives plant, which produces ingredients used to make common consumer products such as toothpaste, fabric softener and detergents.
Community Involvement: Mr. Lowry is host and co-founder of Whisper and Shout, a twice-a-month open mic poetry night. He is a board member of George Washington Carver Community Center, where he is chairman of the building and grounds committee. He is also president of the Golden Torch Foundation, which in conjunction with his fraternity, the Peoria alumni chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Inc., raises funds for scholarship, mentorship and service programs.
