Occupation: Riley Greenwood is the owner and operator of Riley’s Vegan Sweets and Eats, Peoria’s first 100% vegan bakery. She creates a variety of baked goods with organic ingredients that are both dairy-free and eggless. Her shop was one of 38 small businesses listed on the Illinois Office of Tourism’s 2022 Illinois Made Holiday Gift Guide.
Community Involvement: In July 2023, Ms. Greenwood organized the first Plant-based Peoria Expo, which attracted more than 1,300 people.
Education: Graduate, Peoria High School
Three things she’s passionate about: “I am passionate about entrepreneurship, baking and teaching people how food is medicine.”
Three favorite hobbies: “Playing my violin, traveling to vegan restaurants and taking care of my plants.”
Career influence or inspiration: “My inspiration comes directly from the women in my family. My mother, Rachael Parker, has not only been my biggest inspiration, but my loudest cheerleader the last 6 1/2 years since opening my small business.”
