Occupation: Eric Jones is an accountant whose official job title is Total Rewards Analyst for RLI Insurance. Jones administers compensation and benefit plans for more than 1,000 RLI employees, ranging from bonuses to retirement accounts such as 401(k) plans, stock options, restricted stock unit grants and employee stock ownership plans (ESOP). On the side, he’s an IHSA basketball referee and Uber driver who also mows lawns.
Community Involvement: He is a volunteer with Heart of Illinois Big Brothers/Big Sisters and a member of the National Association of Black Accountants.

Career Influence or Inspiration: “I love to work with numbers and help people at the same time so HR was the perfect match for me.” He calls two ISU professors, Jomo Sankara and Rachel Birkey, great role models and educators. “I appreciated their wisdom and their belief in me and other students.”
