Fiscal Year 2025 Revised Budget


The City's fiscal year covers the period from January 1 through December 31. The Budget is presented as a biannual document, however, in accordance with the adopted financial policies of City and State law is adopted annually. 

The City is pleased to present the 2025 Revised Budget using ClearGov digital budget book software, which provides a budget book that is optimized for online viewing. This budget book will updated throughout the budget deliberation process by the City Council.

2025 Revised Budget Timeline

5-August  Kickoff meeting for the 2025 Revised Budget with City Staff.

19-Aug     Completed department goals due in JotForm. 

4-Sep        First draft of budget figures completed and turned into Finance for review.

5-Sep        Start initial review meetings with Department Heads.

16-Sep      Department Head meetings with City Manager/Finance Director (separate       meetings on CIP).    

8-Oct         Proposed 2025 Revised Budget Operating / Capital Budget document to City Council (Regular Meeting).            

8-Oct         Proposed 2025 Revised Budget Placed on File in the City Clerk's Office for Public                   Viewing.

11-Oct       Publish Notice of Public Hearing for 2025 Revised Budget (at least 10 days before hearing).

15-Oct       Estimate of Levy to Council (not less than 20 days before adoption).

15-Oct       Budget discussions (Operating & Capital) with the City Council (Special Meeting).

18-Oct      *Publish Notice of Truth-In-Taxation Hearing for Tax Levy (if necessary). 

22-Oct       Continue Budget discussions (Operating & Capital) with the City Council                (Regular Meeting).

22-Oct        Public Hearing for Budget - Start @ 6:00 p.m.

29-Oct        Continue Budget discussions (Operating & Capital) with the City Council (Special Meeting).

29-Oct        Truth in Taxation Hearing (if necessary).

5-Nov         Finalization of 2025 Revised Budget (Special Meeting).

12-Nov  ***RESOLUTION Adopting the 2025 Revised Budget for the City of Peoria and                                      Ordinance Approving 2024 Tax Levy (Regular Meeting).

15-Nov       File 2024 Tax Levy with Peoria County and Annual Budget with Peoria County.
