Equal Opportunity Office

Under the direction of the City's Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, the Equal Opportunity Office is dedicated to ensuring the City of Peoria builds and promotes a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workforce, and provides equitable access, and equitable opportunities for our community. The Equal Opportunity Office (EOO) was established to:

  • Ensure fair and equitable practices within City of Peoria operations
  • Protect against discrimination in the areas of Employment, Housing, & Public Accommodations
  • Develop and implement strategies that recognize and prevent discrimination in recruitment, selection, training, and personnel practices
  • Ensure access to city facilities, programs, and services for our disabled or differently abled community members
  • Provide staff support to the Fair Employment Commission, Fair Housing Commission, and the Mayor's Advisory Committee for Citizens with Disabilities (MACCD)
