The City of Peoria was incorporated in 1845. The City of Peoria is a home-rule municipality incorporated and organized under the laws of the State of Illinois for the purpose of providing its residents with services including, but not limited to: police, fire, public works, recreation, building, planning, zoning and code enforcement.
