Land Bank Board
Committee Overview
The City of Peoria created the City of Peoria Land Bank as a Division of the City of Peoria Community Development Department to combat community deterioration. Its goal is to use strategies to make an unproductive property vibrant again, returning it to use, improving the quality of life for residents, stabilizing the tax base, and creating opportunities for housing, commerce, industry and employment for City residents.
The Land Bank Board serves to oversee that all operations of the land bank are free of political influence, that it acts fiscally responsible, that it spends all money given for land banking purposes, and to approve transactions over $15,000.
The Land Bank Board membership consists of Three City Council Members, the City Manager, the Community Development Director, the Corporation Counsel, the Peoria County Treasurer, A member of the real estate community, two representatives from City of Peoria neighborhoods, and a County representative.
