In Memoriam

"What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal." - Albert Pine

Police Memorial StoneThis page is dedicated to Peoria Police officers who died in the line of duty. A granite memorial stone situated on the east side of Peoria City Hall was dedicated and the names inscribed of those officers and firefighters who died in the line of duty. Yearly during police week, we return and gather close by to reflect on the lives of these officers. For information on the memorial service, visit "Police Week Activities" on the Items of Interest page.

Each of these officers had many God-given talents, a high regard for life, and concern for the well-being of all. They were respected by their peers, dedicated to their duty, and loved by their family, and us - who shared our love, pain, and life. In the short time they lived, their lives touched the hearts and lives of generations to come. They will not be forgotten. Below are their names and a picture of who these officers are. As was once said, "We share a bit of their lives because they were so dearly loved".

You may select "learn more" under each officer below and be linked to more information on each Officer on the Officer Down Memorial Page website.

We are thankful for the support we receive from our families, the community and the Heart of Illinois Critical Incident Stress Management Team throughout the most difficult times and for enhancing the quality of life of all, each and every day, one day at a time, one moment at a time.

"You will find, as you look back upon your life, that the moments when you have really lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love." - Henry Drummond

Officer Donan James Faulkner Jr.

Officer Faulkner was a devoted and loving son, brother, husband, and father of five beautiful children. He was an Uncle, he was a good friend and a dedicated Police Officer. His legacy will remain in his beautiful family and forever in our hearts.

Officer Faulkner was a role model. "He was the kind of man any parent would want as a child, the kind of man any woman would want as a husband and the kind of Father any child would pray to have." - Chief John W. Stenson

Officer Cristy S. Tindall

December 30, 2004

Beloved Wife, Daughter, Sister, Relative, Friend, and Peace Officer

Officer Cristy S. Tindall

Cristy loved God, the people, families, animals, and all the things He made. She accepted people for who they were and offered direction for those in need, like many others. She had an amazing ability to stay focused on the task and mission at hand despite the chaos that was sometimes present around. Her easy-going way was calming to people, especially those who were under stress, and she was always dedicated to her career of helping others.

You will be greatly missed but we are thankful to God for having been able to share a bit of time and life here with you. May you rest in Peace and know you were and are very much respected and loved. We are comforted with peace of mind and peace at heart to know that you are in Heaven. In these places you will always be for in God's mind you always were.

"Where there is no revelation the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who keeps the law." - Proverbs 29:18
