Artist Statement
I created this piece first sketching out my flowers with a pencil, then using a hot glue gun to go over my sketch. Afterwards, I used a method called 'Pour Painting', which uses fluid acrylic paints to create the background of the painting. Once dry, I paint in the Magnolias using acrylics, then touched it up with some mica powder and poured epoxy resin over the areas that I really wanted to stand out.
Biography
My name is Kelsey Knight. I'm 34 years old and am a local resident of Peoria and have been my whole life. After taking a hiatus from art for about 5 years or so, I've decided to finally branch out and expand my horizons by opening up my own art business called Poured Illusions. While I continue to do pour paintings, I consider myself a mixed media artist, dabbling in colored pencils, markers, acrylics, watercolors, charcoal, and other mediums.
