Dream Inception 17

Artist Statement

DREAM INCEPTION: One day in 2020, I realized that I had quite a number of fantastic dreams, but none about the outer space. I thought of the movie Inception, then I decided to spend 3 months to implant information about outer space to my sub consciousness. Everyday I took quite amount of time to get various information about space, for example watching movies & documentaries, reading & listening science fiction novels, playing games with my child, visiting Planetariums and experienced VR (space walk, Mars mission etc.). At last, I did have two space dreams appeared in my dreams!

During the process I created a series of color Photogram. The images were not taken by camera; the productions of the images were to place the objects between color photographic paper and lights, then exposure. Details of the objects are lost, some are deformed, and some are moved. Outline and color of the objects are well designed by self-modified lights. Most of the creations adopted multi-exposure, just like to use lights to draw on the photo paper.
